If they were, then they surely would have known better than to be wearing red shirts while going into any conflict. Doing such a thing would clearly put the mark of Doom upon themselves and upon their entire cause. And yet, poor Mundanes that they are, that is precisely what they did. ^_^;

One can only presume that this is a sign that Mr. Obama, their very own version of Captain Kirk, obviously regards them as expendable. ^_~

Frequent readers of Chaos Manor know that Dr. Jerry Pournelle often cites the Iron Law of Bureaucracy as being that any bureaucracy will ultimately exist to serve itself rather than its supposed constituents so we can hardly be startled when union officials prove no exception to this rule. :P

Perhaps it would be wise for the voting public and politicians alike to consider the possibility that both Congress and the state legislatures could find uses for their time that are a bit more relevant to their own public duties than that of study hall management? o_O
